Dear all,
I am currently trying to install Suse 7.0 on a Sun Ultra 1.
As I do need autofs-support in the kernel, I have to compile the
kernel. However, when I invoke "make menuconfig" or "make xconfig",
I get some errors when compiling "stdio.h" and "libio.h".
When I use "make oldconfig", I happen to get a new kernel and
the autofs-support does work, however, the standard-console looks
strange (black on white in a reduced portion of the screen, with
the borders showing text of old sessions) and X doesn't work
any longer. Additionally, the kernel is more than twice as big
as the pre-compiled kernel (vmlinuz64 in /boot on CD1).
Therefore, I would like to ask the following two questions:
1.) Does somebody know, how to repair compilation of the standard
header files in order to get the menu- or X-kernel-configuration
to work?
2.) Does somebody have a configuration file for the pre-compiled
kernel of the CD, as the only thing I would like to add to this
is the autofs support.
I would appreciate any hint, thanks for your help,
Guenter
