    i use this adapter with suse-linux on a x86-pc with the ncr53c8xx-module
    (the ul2s have an lsi-logic(symbios) 53c895-chipset) and another one on
    a ultra5 (with solaris). with the solaris i have to flash a lsi-bios on
    that card, otherwise it donīt work. probe-scsi showed the correct type,
    but the drives were not recognized. i donīt know, if the change of the
    card-bios is neccessary with linux. but i think you should first try the
    ncr-module...
