Subject: sparcstation20 + serialports

Hallo group,

1.
does anyone know how to connect a modem to the serialport of a SS20? i tried
several adapters, but yast doesnt recognize any device. under /dev/ is no
tty00x. how can i create them? if the machine boots, the kernellog tells me
there are 4x Zilog8350, but how can I configure them? with setserial I must
include the devicename, but which? :-) where can i get an adapter from sun
connector to DB25 or DB9?

a lot of questions but maybe someone here played with it.

2.
how do I get rid off these syslogmessages from my fastethernet BigMac card:
kernel: eth1: link down, cable problem? the card is working properly, I
have no probs with it....
