    Did you use the same CDROM drive though? Or do you have a different
    CDROM drive in the ultra-30? It's pleanty common for a CDR to work on
    one reader but not another.

    If you used the same drive then i'd say it's yet more evidence of the
    linux scsi driver for sparcs having major problems on SS5's
