Who ask for it later during login ? I don't know any program or
configuration on our Distribution which needs this. Could it be that
this is something special from your site ? In this case you should
ask your system administrator for which it is needed, we cannot
know it.

If you have it on Solaris, too, then it is something special from
your local software and has nothing to do with the distribution.
