ok... my Sparc 10 is up and running now with SuSE 7.0 -
just a couple of notes since this is very much in development...
1) SMP kernel install failed on my machine - finally went with standard
32-bit kernel and I was able to complete the installation.
2) SILO configuration (Yast 1) is set up to look for /sbin/lilo instead of
/sbin/silo - easy enough to fix running SILO after 'lilo' failure. Of
course writing lilo.conf by hand isn't a big deal... but the problem is
probably worth noting if you like Yast. I didn't check Yast2 for the same
issue.
3) eliminating 'pads' in doc series keeps initial 'minimal' install (83
packages) on 1st CD - helpful for an nfs-mounted /cdrom.
