Well, 1152x900 tends to be the default resolution with the SPARC
framebuffers... you're probably either using a cg6 or a cg3 with
yours, and those are no exception.
Some of them will only do 1152x900... and a few go down to 1024x768
and that's the lowest. If you have a little extra cash, then I can at
least offer the idea that old Sun monitors are both high quality and
inexpensive (usually just resold Sony or some other vendor)... mostly
because they're fix frequency monitors. I got a nice 20" Sony-made
Sun monitor for $250 a few months ago, and smaller ones (17") can
probably be found for much less.
