Greetings
I have been trying to create a boot floppy to
start the Linux install from. It does not matter
which OS I format the disk under, whether ext2
or DOS; if I use DOS(windows) rawrite, or Linux
diskdump(on my Linux PC); I get the same message
from openboot:
Bad magic number in disk label
Can't open Sun disk label package
Can't open boot device
What am I doing wrong?
If I try to load from a CD it gets to the point
where it starts loading packages and cruds out.
Its like the SCSI bus dies, theres nothing there.
I swear this Sparc system is determined not to
have Linux loaded on it. Does anyone know what
is going on here? (It loads Solaris7 just fine.)
I have a Scarc IPX, 2GB drive, 64MB of memory,
PowerUP chip, ROM version 2.4. (Do I need anything
else?)
