Hi there,
today I tried to install SuSE Linux 7.3 on an old SPARCstation 1 (4/60).
It has of course no CDROM, so I booted from floppy disks using the
bootdisk32 and rootdisk32 images.
So far everything is fine and I tried to start installation in Linuxrc via
NFS. The sparc mounts the NFS system and then loads someting into RAM and
the screen gets black and nothing happens.
So I switched to console 4 and found, that my screen gets filled with the
followng error message:
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -h binfmt-0000, errno = 8
And this goes on for hours and so the installation stucks.
Has anybody an idea how I can install linux then? Is there for example an
option for the bootprompt?
Cheers,
Philipp
