Hi. I wanted to experiment with the SuSE distro, and had the opportunity to
put up a firewall on an old sparcstation 2, so I decided to try with the 7.3.
I'm stuck on getting the dhcp server going; I installed the dhcp rpm, but
when it fails on start and dumps messages to /var/log/message indicating it
wants the kernel compiled with different options (CONFIG_PACKET and
CONFIG_FILTER) than the stock kernel.
Is this normal (shipping rpms that conflict with the stock kernel) for SuSE?
I can rebuild the kernel (although loading a development system will be a
tight squeeze), but I am thinking that there is a better way, and I simply
don't know it because of my unfamilarity with SuSE.
Thanks,
mike.
