the turboGX boards, any in the series including the 4Mb TGX+, only support 8
bit video (256 colors) at all resolution. the only board that supports
24bit color in a non creator ultra 1 is the turbo zx which are few and far
between and require a special adaptor to work with an ultra 1 which sun
    sells for $100.

but if anyone has a ultra 1 zx adaptor sitting around unused i'm interested
    in buying it!!

    hope that helps

    Hi,

    I've installed SUSE 7.0 on a ultra1 (143MHz,128Mo), with a TurboGX FB
(1Mo of video mem) but the xserver use the Xsun driver and i've only 256
colors, therefor during installation (YAST2) it seem that the FB gives
more then 256 colors (using Xsun24?).
By default yast2 install Xsun and not Xsun24.And i cant says the
xf86Comfig to use a sun FB.
So does the turboGX have only 256 colors resolution or is the yast2
graphics like 16M color with 256?

Anotheer question, do i have to build myself a rescue disk (boot/root)
    isnt a tool like mkbootdsk.

    Could someone help me?
