Hi Guys,
I was just given a Sparc 2 and am trying to get it to work with SuSE
7.1 beta.
This is what I see when I boot up.
SPARCstation 2, Type 4 Keyboard
ROM Rev. 2.4.1, 96MB Memory installed, Serial #16777215
Ethernet address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, Host ID: ffffffff.
The IDPROM contents are invalid
I then issue:
boot /sbus/esp@0,800000/sd@6,0
SILO
boot:
Uncompressing image...
Loading initial ramdisk....
IDPROM Unknown format type!
Program terminated
However if I boot from the internal disk, I can happily boot up to SunOS
4 (although I don't have the root password)
Does anyone know how to fix my new toy?? It has two NICs in it, I'm not sure
if that makes a difference to the issue at all...
TIA
