    Well, not a serial mouse, but there are mechanical versions of both the
    type 5 and type 6 mice (the 6 is only mechical, but be sure not to get
    the USB model). It should be cheap and easy to find somewhere.

    Yep, it's compiled under Solaris. Running the Solaris version might be
    an option, except that 1) solemu is broken on sparc32 and 2) I figure it
    uses threads which is solemu's achilles heel. The x86 version won't run
    on SPARC.

    A good way to get a copy of Solaris for free is to catch Sun at LWE,
    where they've given copies (for those who ask) on the show floor (as
    long as supplies hold up). This, of course, assumes that LWE isn't out
    of your way. :)

    One thing to keep in mind is despite the larger number of x86 systems
    out there, Solaris remains in higher demand for SPARC systems. I'm a
    bit surprised that they have a price difference there, but at the same
    time, that would make sense.
