Well, I have actually seen one at the 17C3 in Berlin, and durin the 3 days I have asked a lot of questions to its owner (plus got some files from /proc :-))
In short:
His Voyager ran Debian GNU/Linux.
He tried to compile the PCMCIA utils: failed
The floppy didi not work under Linux.
The InfraRed Port did not work too.
He couldn't have sound support ( I have emailed him with a suggestion and I am waiting for the result )
He can't change the contrast from the keyboard.
On the HardWare point of view: this is a truly superb machine, the TFT screen is one of the best I have ever seen ( 1024x768 alas 8bpp ).
Sun realy built a computer without weak points : the HD subsystem is in SCSI and this pose quite a problem: 2"1/2 SCSI HDD are very hard to find.
But IMHO this computer was well ahead of its time and If I could own one I will.
For the Tadpole Series 3 AFAIK they do not run Linux.
I plan to have a section about this wonderful mobile SparcStation in the next release of the SPARC-HOWTO, with some data from the file he kindly gave me.
Regards,
Lionel
