    greets!

    I am in a similar situation running a SS20 (2 CPU, 512 MB)
without keyboard and display as DHCP-Server in a remote room.
Runs fine, but keeps complaining about missing tty-devices
(tty1 - tty6) in the messages file every 5 minutes:

mingetty[13596]: /dev/tty4: cannot open tty: No such device
init: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

How can I get rid of that?

    Wolfgang

Look in /etc/rc.config for the SERIAL_CONSOLE entry and run SuSEconfig
    after changing this variable.

Linux is like a Vorlon. It is incredibly powerful, gives terse,
cryptic answers and has a lot of things going on in the background.
