*nod* My sparc has recently had an unfortunate run-in with a solaris 2.6
CD and Gauntlet Firewall, and as such is currently incapable of booting
linux kernels...
I have to say 2.4 is nice though.. runs my Toshiba 4300 nicely... cept for alsa
breaking of course...

Yah.. sounds like fun.. I just had dinner with Harald from gnumonks.org
He said he was also looking forward to it. (I gather he is from Nuremberg
the same as your guys? Do you know him??)
Tridge's talk on the Tivo is very funny... It's basically along the lines of:
Well, I got this tivo thing...
It doesn't work with PAL, So I hacked it...
oh, it somehow managed to get some more ram to..
also, while I was at it I thought I'd add an ISA bus.
Now that I had an ISA bus, I thought it'd be a waste to not have a network
card.
So now that it has a network card, I figured I'd make it stream accross the
network,
reverse engineer the file system, build an sql backend to the guide info,
and hell...
I was bored, so I thought I'd add a PAL tv tuner into it as well...
Oh, not to mention the guy in the cube across the hall, who decided to add
a VCR
motherboard to it as well, cause he had one spare....
*grin* Only an Australian can be that dry....
cheers
