Yes, a qfe is 4 hme interfaces, and it is supported just fine.

Well, I've used 2 qfe's in an Ultra 2 (sbus machine) under Solaris with
no problem. I've not tried it under Linux (even a single one). Someone
was complaining about two not working together in their machine on the
sparclinux@vger.kernel.org list a few months ago. I might still have
that email, but check the archives (like the one at
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/) and see if you can find it first... if
not, I can try to dig it up.

If you need 8 interfaces, then in theory the U5 should be fine. Just
check up on it first and then you make the call...
