In one of my (rare) daredevil attacks I tried to patch the linux-2.2.18.SuSE
kernel of the SPARC distribution with the 'best fitting' reiserfs patch. The
patch failed and the follow compilation did as well.
Does someone happen to know the latest status on this? The web is a bit
non-conclusive for me. As it seems, the patch would work against Debian
potatoe.
In the SuSE-7.1 Sparc images, YaST offers to have partions with ReiserFS,
but fails to execute mkreiserfs (as it is not part of the distribution and
fails even after installing them with 'do not support BigEndian...').
YaST2 does not mention them.
I have already invested days into this (Sparc newcomer, learnt a LOT), so
I would accept jumping through any hoop. :-)
