32bit or 64bit kernel ? For 32bit it should work fine, for a 64bit
kernel this is the expected error.
For UltraSPARC, you can try
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/kukuk/SPARC/lx_sparc-2.4.6.SuSE-0.sparc.rpm
and you should make sure to create a v2 reiserfs partition (mkreiservs -v 2)
