    Hello List Friends!

    re: KDE2 DCOPserver

Me again! After a complete re-install of v7.1, everything works AOK; startx
command behaves normally, gets me to a nice desktop.

After installing some of the KDE2 updates for 7.1, I am again starting to
    get the messages:
'There was some error setting up inter-process communication for KDE. The
message returned by the system was:'
'Could not read the network connection list. /root/DCOPserver_<hostname>_:0'
'Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!'
right before the point of logon on to KDE --- 'OK' takes me back to terminal
    prompt.

(by the way, isn't the correct DISPLAY at this point '0:0'?? What would
    <hostname>_:0' be?

Messages there - from kdeinit, kinternet and Xlib - read:

kdeinit: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/kde2/lib/libkdeui.so.3:
    undefined symbol: styleChange_8QToolBarR6QStyle
knotify: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/kde2/lib/libkdeui.so.3:
    undefined symbol: styleChange_8QToolBarR6QStyle
/opt/kde2/bin/kinternet: error while loading shared libraries:
    /opt/kde2/lib/libkdeui.so.3: undefined symbol: styleChange_8QToolBarR6QStyle
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0".
/opt/kde2/bin/kdeinit: error while loading shared libraries:
    /opt/kde2/lib/libkdeui.so.3: undefined symbol: styleChange_8QToolBarR6QStyle
Could not register sith DCOPserver. Aborting.

Apparently (???) something is wrong with QT - Can anyone help with this??? I
am unable to use the dektop.

    Many thanks - Lou
