Is the person trying to boot Suse 7.1 sparc with the 2.4 kernel? I had a
similar problem on a SS20 and was informed that the 2.4 kernel's memory
manager ? was broken still, and I should use the 2.2.18 kernel which I have
and does work.

Not quite clear, what the problem might be without any description.
boot disk1:a or: boot disk1:a /boot/vmlinuz should work. You should
put this into nvram when it works ok.
