Subject: Unreadable display during install of 7.1

I have just successfully installed SuSe 7.1 on an Ultra/10 with
Creator 3D. During the install there are a couple of places where
the display colors become very faint with respect to the display
background. The just barely readable after a lot of fiddling with
the brightness and contrast controls. The two places are at the
point where I receive the message "Now booting your system - OK"
and at the point where I receive the message "Your system is now
installed. You may now logon as 'xyz'. - OK". At both points the
display goes into linemode and becomes almost unreadable. I also
see it when I do a "shutdown -h now". How do I get these messages
    in white on black?
