Subject: Gnome with no sound and JBuilder on linux-sparc

I have a question related to gnome package from 7.1

When I enter in the control center to configure the sound it says that the
sound support wasn't compiled with the gnome control center. Well I installed
the gnome control center from 7.0 and got the sound preferences available,
but still no sound even in games. I installed also the games package from 7.0
and the same result. Is it true what it says and the sound support wasn't
compiled in all the gnome packages from 7.1 or it's a problem of
    configuration on my computer?

Well, by the time I've installed the KDE2.1 and it works pretty well (sound
    support also available).

And I got just one more question: some time before on one list related to
linux-sparc (I don't remember exactly if it was this one) somebody said
something about JBuilder running on linux-sparc. My question is if anybody
can give me a hint on how to make it work. Using the BlackDown jdk 1.2.2
gives a strange message about a missing <init> method in the base interface.
Maybe somebody knows from where I can get another jdk distribution,
preferably the IBM's one, as this is the one used for i386 linux. Or maybe I
should use the JBuilder jars for another platform (for example the ones for
    Solaris)?

    Thanks,

    Aurelian
