    In theory you can just grab the latest JDK from blackdown and it should
    run on that.

    If blackdown do not yet have a JDK1.3 for sparc/linux then you will need
    to run JBuilder 3.5 rather than 4.0. JBuilder 4.0 requires JDK1.3.

    IBMs JDK only runs on x86 on linux.

    To help you further i'd need to know the details of the error message
    you are getting.
