Nothing, actually... it's not your fault. The SS5/170 is a special case
among the SS5's. It has a Fujitsu TurboSPARC CPU, while the others
(70, 85 and 110MHz models) all have MicroSPARC-II's. Poor support for
them has been a problem for a while... if you check any of the
SPARC/Linux HCLs, you'll see that they don't list the SS5/170 (or list
it as unsupported). Congratulations, you have the special case.
Actually, if anyone has the PS/PDF document describing this chip, I'd
appreciate it. I tried to find it before but was unsuccessful... I
actually also have an SS5/170 here, so I'd be able to easily work on it.

You can install it manually after installation... that should work.
