    Actually, don't set the SERIAL:_CONSOLE config variable via YAST....It didn't
    work when I tried it...SuSEconfig must be changing other settings as
    well....Just edit "/etc/inittab" by hand and it works.....

    Forgot to mention in my previous post....If you want to log in as root you have
    to set the config variable "ROOT_LOGIN_REMOTE" to yes....
