    Subject: Kernel 2.4 on sparc-32

Yesterday i read some disturbing news:

Someone, running 2.2.19 on a sun4M-machine had troubles with compiling a
    2.4 kernel.
The reply he got, was that sparc32 was broken in the kernel and that on-one
    was looking after the code
as in: there is no maintainer anymore...........

I knew from several lists, that spar32 code in 2.4 kernels is said to be
unstable (my reason to stick with 2.2.x), but completely unmaintained is the
    other end of the spectrum.

    Is this rumour really true?
