Hi Guys,
i have recently set up a Sparcstation Voyager with Suse Sparc Linux
and Solaris 7. My intention is to boot up multiple Linux and Solaris partitions
(just for evaluation of different applications).
I have used a 18Gb external HD to get enough space for the various
installations.
My problem is:
When i try to use SILO to boot a solaris image which has its root partition in
the upper part of this large HD then SILO prints the error message:
------
'Buggy old proms don't allow reading past 1GB from start of the disk.
Send complains to SMCC.
Read Error on block 1
Internal error while loading physical blocks from device
Image not found...try again.'
------
Is there any way to work around this ?
Do i need a PROM update ? When yes, where do i get it ?
Any help would be appreciated.
best regards, Till
