Thanks Thorsten !
I tried again and it worked on the Sparc 20.
But it takes a long time during to start X and
the first time I was switching consoles with Alt-F? to
see after Error Messages, that must have frozen the install
the first time while it tried to initialize X.
This time I waited it out and after a long time the installer started,
after that everything was fast and is working great !
I wished you where a little closer, I could have lent you a 1000E.
I am in Silicon Valley, California, USA.
Or the 2000E but that is a 400kg machine !
But I am willing to help you in the testing on the sun4d architecture.
The 7.1 does install fine on the 2000E, it is only the normal boot that
fails.
Thanks again for your dedication.
/ Adam

Sorry, I don't have access to any SPARC Center, so I cannot help you very
much with this ...
I have problems on some SPARCs to boot, but the tftp boot image works fine
on them. Please, could you try to boot over network and not from CD ?

Hm, I have a SS20 with 1x125Mhz and SX Graphics and it works fine.
How many memory do you have ?
If you switch to the other text consoles, are there error messages ?
What stands in /var/log/y2log ?
