Friends,
I joined this list a couple of hrs ago - tried getting the FAQ but could not
find. Hope you don't mind this typical newbie question.
I just installed SuSE Linux 7.1 into my old SPARC 2 (Sun 4/75) that has 64MB
Ram. Everything works fine except for the speed - when I run KDE 2 it
crawls. I tried mwm just to check, it was fine - desktop performance
(response to mouse clicks, moving Windows, starting apps, pulling down
menus) was as good as the last os I ran in this machine (Solaris 2.6).
Is there anything I can do to tune the installation so that I can run KDE 2
comfortably? Will it be any better if I run Gnome instead?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
~ MUTHU
