I have one idea: The initrd64 is bigger than initrd32
and this is one of the many problems with initrd: Memory corruption.

Yes, since you use initrd32, all kernel modules for your
kernel are not available. This will explain nearly all
of your problems.

You can install with YaST2 textmode (add expert=1 as kernel
parameter).
Does the screen also turns on and off once every 5 seconds,
if you configure X11 later with YaST2 or SaX2 and runs X11 ?
