| Hello,

| I've got SuSE sparc linux on ultra 1. When i call

| xterm: Cannot allocate color .....

| How can I get around this problem, and make the xterm

| Also, is there gnome-terminal for SuSe Sparc? Does the

| there a netscape for SuSE sparc?

If you have a normal Sun graphics card (e.g. cgsix) then you can only have
256 colours defined at any one time. This is quite an inconvenience when
programs like netscape allocate 216. My suggestion is to turn off colours
in vim. The alternative is to try and convince programs that use a lot of
colours to use private colour maps, these however cause colour flashing
that few find pleasing.
