    By coincidence, I got this mail just after trying to respond to Curt
    Chambers on a related issue.

    When downloading software, I almost always choose source if available
    and rebuild it. For me, usually the configuration setup can figure out
    how to build for Sparc Linux w/o too much help, and if not, I usually
    modify a Solaris build to work.

    If you can't rebuild, and you can't find a prebuilt version for Sparc
    Linux, I suppose you have to go with Solaris and try to use emulation.
