For me, I need solaris because I use Oracle. I have not found a clean way
to port my oracle databases to MySQL or I would play more with the Linux
Sparc side. Most of the applications I like for linux are on the
linux/intel side of the house (Star Office, Netscape 4.x, ). SuSE is by
far the best distribution, whether x86 or sparc out there. When more
applications (source) become available for linux sparc, I'll not boot back
into Solaris to do any work or self-training. Hope this helps out.
