I am trying to load/install 7.3 on a SUN E420 which has two cpu's and 4
gig's of ram. I have 7.1 loaded already and I had to do the install with
the following boot command: yast1 mem=512M
I have tried booting 7.3 from cdrom and I was hoping it would get around the
limited memory issue in 7.1. If I add not option to the boot command, it
comes back with an error:
Could not find any available memory for initial ram disk
You do not have enough continuous available memory for such initialization.
I then tried adding the mem option to the manual and text boot selections
(i.e. text mem=512M and manual mem=512M) but I still get the same error.
Can anyone help me with this?
I tried just doing a system update from 7.1 to 7.3 but it got errors on that
so it was not an option.
Thanks,
David
