in fdisk it's the command 's'.
i don't know if this command automatically creates the partition hdb3,
which is the whole disk. If it doesn't you'll have to create the third
partition manually, which has identifier 5.
if you use the command 'p', the output should contain a line like
/dev/hda3 0 29649 14943096 5 Whole disk
(probably hdb3 in your case).
then you can create you own linux partitions (but you can't use
partition number 3)
