Hi!
I have trouble installing SuSE 7.3 on my SPARC station 2.
I don't have a keyboard or screen attached to it. Instead a serial cable is
installed. Right now the maschine is running Solaris 5.7
And to make the chaos complete I don't have a CD-RON either.
Here's what I've done so far:
- Set the in- and output device to ttya in openboot
- Downloaded the ISO Image -> Checksums are OK
- Generated the 2 Boot-Floppys
- Maschine is booting up with the Floppy.
- Maschine ejects first disk
- After I put in the second disk the terminal does not accept the enter-key
linux wants
- Got a keyboard to press enter -> Pretty anoying.
- System boots up and I can start the installation via NFS
- Linux actually downloads some stuff from the CD on the NFS Server
- When I choose Installation via Yast 1 (Guess Yast 2 won't work too well
over a serial cable) linux starts to download
Yast 1 but then pops up with a window saying "An error occured during the
installation"
- The same with yast 2
Unfortuanetly the error message isn't that informative. So I have no idea
wher to look for errors.
The only idea I had was a corruptive CD, but the ISO checksum was OK. So
that shouldn't be a matter.
Has anyone an idea what I could try.
Thanks in advance
Chris
