HI all
We have a SUN Blade 100 (Suse 7.3) and would like to use a webcam with
it. Is anybody else doing something like that?
At the moment we're using a Philips Vesta Pro PCVC680 (USB) which works,
but as the pwcx module is binary-only (intel compatible logically), we
cannot use it with full resolution. So we're hoping somebody knows of a
solution to this.
more information: http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/
Type Philips Vesta Pro PCVC680
Kernel 2.4.14
The pwc module works, this means the camera is recoignized and answers.
For greater resolutions the pwcx module is needed, which because of a
NDA is available as binary only (i386 and ppc).
-hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 5
-usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x471/0x308) is not claimed by any
active driver.
-Linux video capture interface: v1.00
-pwc Philips PCA645/646 + PCVC675/680/690 + PCVC730/740/750 webcam
module version 8.3 loaded.
-pwc Also supports the Askey VC010, Logitech Quickcam 3000 Pro and the
Samsung MPC-C10 and MPC-C30.
-usb.c: registered new driver Philips webcam
-pwc Philips PCVC680K (Vesta Pro) USB webcam detected.
-pwc Registered as /dev/video0.
-pwc Video mode CIF@10 fps is only supported with the decompressor
module (pwcx).
TIA
Urs
