Subject: [suse-sparc] iptables on 7.3/sparc ? strange behavior...

    Hello,

just got a curios problem with iptables on a ultra5/kern-2.4.14
    iptables won't work... ?!

i can load all the fine modules regarding iptables, but
if i start to put the first rule in, iptables won't give
    me my shell back...

lsmod shows me all the neccessary modules loaded well,
but the iptables executable doesn't work as expected...

the strange thing is, if i put the first default-rule in, it
get's instantly active (iptables -P INPUT DROP) and further
connections to the regarding machine will be declined.

...fine, just as i wanted... but one rule with 'default drop'
is a little bit heavy. i mean, i need some more rules...

so my question, has anyone else seen this prolem on a ultra5
    with 7.3/sparc installed ? and maybe a solution ?

searched the list-archive, and found just one similar
posting a few month ago, with no further reactions on it...

    cheers,
    --- Kai
