Subject: [suse-sparc] DoD with rp-pppoe question.

    Hi List,

    i have a small Question. With Kernel 2.2.20 and pppd 2.4.1 i don't
get a connection to T-DSL. Ok.. dosn't matters.

Using my favorite rp-pppoe 3.3.1 in non-DoD-Mode works fine but can't
use the "Dial on Demand" Mode.

    At /var/log/messages i found a "transfer_ppp failed: wanted unit 0, got 1"

My /etc/ppp/options is empty (as explained on faq-pages by the developer)
    ps -x shows "/usr/sbin/pppd pty /usr/sbin/pppoe -p
    /var/run/pppoe.conf-adsl.pid.pppoe -I eth1 -T 240 -U -m 1412 noip"
And if i start in non-DoD, additionaly
    "/usr/sbin/pppoe -p /var/run/pppoe.conf-adsl.pid.pppoe -I eth1 -T 240 -U -m
    1412"
is up and the Link works.

My Networks are set like this. (eth1 don't use a IP)
    eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:35:03:D0:EE
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
              RX packets:2 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
              TX packets:2 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
              collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
              RX bytes:126 (126.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
              Interrupt:55 Base address:0x6a00

    ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
              inet addr:10.112.112.112 P-t-P:10.112.112.113
    Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1
              RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
              TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
              collisions:0 txqueuelen:10
              RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

"Netstat -rn" shows the ppp0 as Gateway.

I think, pppd try to open ppp0 but this exits and the system returns the
    next
free number for pppX in this case 1. See at the top.

So why is DoD not working? Any Ideas? What can i do to fix that?

    Rolf
