I'm running 7.3 & KDE on my Ultra10, and rpm -qf /usr/bin/play yields
sox-12.17-81.
There was a thread last month about sound with KDE on an Ultra10 which
answered some of these questions:
http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-sparc/2002-Jan/0157.html
In essence: in the control panel:
[1] sound -> sound server -> general tab -> uncheck start aRts on KDE
startup
[2] sound -> system notifications -> check use external player =
/usr/bin/play
THat works for me, as far as the internal speaker is concerned, although
I have to set the volume every time I reboot the box -- it seems to get
reset to some very high level every time. Gotta poke around a bit
more.... :)
