    i also have an U10-440 working with an elite3d.
    First you should get it to work with solaris.
    Do you get the boot prompt on the UPA card? If yes you should
    boot solaris with the option reconfigure (boot -r).
    I'm not sure if you have to do anything else to get it running. (you'll find all
    books online at sunsolve).

    For linux you have to manually copy the fcode to your linux partition to get the
    accelaration working.
    Come back to me if the card is working, i'll give you detailed instructions then
    what to do within linux.
