linux did succesfully recognize my elite3d card, but i never have installed 2
    Monitors.
But as default Xfree does not use the accelaration functions of the elite3d
because you need the ucode( microcode) for the card.
You can see this when starting Xfree (it complains about missing ucode).
Here is how to get the accelaration running:

You can grab the microcode loader from
        http://vger.samba.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/?cvsroot=vger
    Look under afb.

Then to get the actual microcode
1.) copy from your solaris partition /usr/lib/afb.ucode to your linux
             partition to /usr/lib/afb.ucode
2.) run afbinit and specify which framebuffer (/dev/fb?) has an
             elite3d
        3.) start Xsun24

    hope that helps,

    Till
