    Matt:

The NIC worked fine for a year or so under Solaris, and I do not
think that the issue is a hardware problem, since I noticed a Mr. Gerber
complaining about similar issues in another posting on this list, some
    time back.

We have not tried a different network card, since this is the
card, which is built into the computer. Before changing or putting in an
additional NIC card, I want to understand where the problem is first.
Are you saying there is a "known bug" with the Happy Meal Ethernet
controller? If so, then yes, we might use a different NIC. Nevertheless,
this is a production system, so playing with it absent a clear and exact
direction is not the option of choice. At least not an option of choice,
which is provided to me the folks attempting to implement this solution
    (of SuSE on an Ultra-5).

Does SuSE provide support for the SPARC version of SuSE Linux at
    all?

    Very Respectfully,

    Stuart-

    > Mr. Standish:
No need fore the Mr., I work for a living :) Have you tried a different
network card and dose the NIC work under Sparc? These links may give
    you a
better heads up. Sorry I couldn't help more...
