The KDE libraries may not be the problem. I encountered the same mouse
problems on an enterprise 4000 server using suse 7.1 either gnome or KDE. I
even compiled and installed Xfree86 4.1.0 from source. I wonder if Xfree86
4.2.0 fixes the problem. Also, does anyone know Xfree86 4.2.0 will run on
    PCI sparc systems (Enterprise 450)?

    Donald!

Thanks for your post - I am seeing _exactly_ the same behavior, and
    thought
    I had a corrupted install!

I wish I had a resolution to offer you, but I'm betting updates to the
latest KDE libraries may fix the problem - just a guess. I haven't yet
    tried
this, 'cause I'm hesistant to create a non-SuSE-standard environment
    (exacerbating the problem, perhaps?)

Our environments are similar: We are a Sparc 10, Dual Ross 180. It does
    not
appear to be specific to any one application, and appearance is frequent
    but
    intermittent. Hmmm.

Hope we can find a soluton.

    Tks. Lou Picciano
