in the past (7.0 and 7.1) i've been able to install samba during the
initial installation
and then go back later using yast1 network config to print to a remote
printer
via samba.......with 7.3 however it doesn't work, so int he process of
investigating
why, i was reading the Using Samba book which is included in the docs (
ibelieve it
is based on an older samba release), anyway in the instuctions on
how to configure samba to print on a remote printer which is connected to a
windows box, it talks about creating a special if line in the /etc/printcap
file:
"Note that the input filter (if) entry needs to point to the smbprint
program if the machine is on Windows 95/98."
.......
":if=/usr/local/samba/bin/smbprint: "
i don't see such a line and i can't find a smbaprint program, is 7.3 doing
it differently?
or is there now much more to configure?
TIA,
don
