Hi
As a follow up to my previous posts on the ping time problems, (unreasonable
response times) I have made the following discovery.
I have recently installed SmokePing from Tobi Oetiker of MRTG fame. This
uses a program called fping which I had to compile for my Ultra 5.
I expected this program to suffer from the same problem as the standard ping
program but to my utter amazement it works just fine. Even when the normal
ping program gives strange results fping gives sensible figures.
So if you actually need accurate statistics from ping then why not get fping
instead from www.fping.com (surprisingly enough).
