Hi folks,
I'm running Suse 7.1 on a Sparc Ultra5, and I'm having some trouble
installing VNC. The rpm I installed from the Suse CDs gave me a
garbled display on my Windows 2000 client, and a quick Google turned
up someone having the same problem on Red Hat/Sparc last year
(http://www.tridiavnc.com/list-mailist/2001-02/0265.html).
I've followed the advice given in there, including adding the Sparc
patch, and all goes well until I go into the newly-created Xvnc
directory and try to do a 'make World'. Then I get the usual compiler
chatter, followed at the end by:
-DCPP_PROGRAM="\"/lib/cpp\"" -c -o imake.o imake.c
gcc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations
make[2]: *** [imake.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/usr/local/shared/vnc_unixsrc/Xvnc/config/imake'
make[1]: *** [imake.bootstrap] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/shared/vnc_unixsrc/Xvnc'
make: *** [World] Error 2

I had a go at reading the Xvnc docs, as instructed by the VNC readme,
but it didn't mean much to me.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
TIA,
Ben
