Performing an upgrade from 7.0beta to 7.3, and came across the following
issues:
Error: Could not make initrd (usage: mkinitrd [xxxx])
After the first reboot (disc-1 install), my root partition was not mounted
RO so
it could not be fsck'd properly.
Also, it appeared that the font changed types, as it appeared blocky and
pixellated,
somewhat like a bad type on the old Apple 2 hi-res screen. Not TT/scaled at
all.
It was still mostly legible, however, so it's just a cosmetic note.
Note that this screen font is not the same as the status font at the top of
the user-window
(such as "Writing the system configuration" -- this was a nice, bold, scaled
TT font.)
The screen resolution didn't appear to be different from the first stage of
the
install, based on my mental picture of the size of TUX in the upper progress
meter.
Other than that, it appeared that all 1096 packages were correctly
installed/updated
Nice work, in all.
Leif
