Message-Id: <200201072136.QAA06598@www.wgcr.org> From: Lamar Owen <lamar.owen@wgcr.org> Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2002 16:36:26 -0500 Subject: [suse-sparc] Compiling C++ on 7.3 on an Ultra 10.
First, I am rather pleased with how easily SuSE 7.3 installed on the three
Sun workstations I have thus far tried it on (an Ultra 10 and two Ultra
30's). It was a real treat to this Red Hat user to see another distribution
work so well.
However, I am not able to rebuild the PostgreSQL RPMset on any of them, due
to a configure error stating that the C++ compiler cannot create executables.
Gpp and friends are installed. As the RPM maintainer for the PostgreSQL
Global Development Group, I was excited to not only have SuSE 7.3 to work
with but on a SPARC at that. The C++ libs are built and installed somehow in
the buildsystem at SuSE, but I cannot seem to rebuild them. The spec file
mentions all the requirements, which I have installed -- but no joy.
Any help appreciated.
